Welcome to UPEI Recreation, Fitness and Wellness. We continue to update and inform you of programs and activities taking place on the UPEI campus during the year.

Fitness Programming

The Fitness Centre at UPEI's Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre is a state-of-the-art fitness facility that is a vital part of the University of Prince Edward Island. It is our goal to provide an opportunity for participants to improve and maintain their health by creating a fun, friendly, and invigorating atmosphere for all users.

Our fitness programming is specifically designed for you to achieve a maximum workout. We offer a variety of classes and programs that will appeal to all levels and all skills.

Fitness Classes - During the academic year, fitness classes are offered at noon and in the evening by qualified, energetic and dynamic fitness instructors. All of the classes are free for full-time UPEI students and for those with Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre memberships. For those wishing to attend a class who do not have a membership, the cost is $9 plus gst per person per class, or purchase a 5 punch fitness class card for $36.00 + gst. Passes and punch cards can be purchased at the sports centre front desk. Click for a list of 2011/2012 fitness classes and times.  The fall fitness class programs will be posted in August 2012.

User-pay Fitness Programming - During the calendar year (except for July & August), a variety of instructional fitness programming is available. Programs include the popular cycling classes as well as boocamp, kettlebell, and others. These programs are available to students, members and non-members at a cost and are not included with the purchase of a Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre membership.
