User-pay Fitness Programs

User-pay fitness programs are available to students, members and non-members at a cost and are not included with the purchase of a Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre membership.

Advanced Fitness Rowing Class

The goal of this class is to provide participants with a workout at a pace appropriate for each individual. Participants will be exposed to endurance, speed and strength workouts.

The class will be lead by Tony Landry is a Certified Level 3 Rowing Coach.

Fee for each session of six (6) classes is $60 per person plus gst.

To register for the Fitness Rowing sessions, please go to the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre front desk. All
participants must pay by cash or cheque to secure their spot. All user-pay classes are non-refundable and classes cannot be switched to another session once the sessions begin. Please note there are only 6 spots available per session. Registration is on a first come, first pay basis.

Fitness Rowing Class

The goal of this class is to provide the  beginner and experienced rower instruction on basic rowing techniques using the ergometer (rowing machine), and basic principles of training for rowing.  Rowing at a pace appropriate for each individual, you will be exposed to endurance, speed and strength workouts.

TRX CLASSES Spring 2012

    Introduction to GROUP TRX Level: This class will be a workout for those new to the TRX.  Participants will learn the basics including how to lengthen and shorten the strap and how to increase intensity of each exercise to individualize the workout.  The TRX Suspension Training® System is a growing fitness sensation! Known for "all core all the time", TRX Suspension Training and the discipline of Pilates compliment each other perfectly.  Every exercise  in Suspension Training builds functional strength, improves flexibility, balance and core stability all at the same time! By working with your own body weight your workout focuses on the human body as an integrated system.

Advanced Group Cycling: 

What better way to build strength then to climb?  Get ready to ride steadily and consistently with heavy resistance.   Strength rides increase muscular and cardiovascular strength enabling you to be a powerful climber.  The class will also challenge your aerobic base through interval sprints and maximum speed.

Cycling in the Zone

Experience a knockout ride on the Keiser bikes -- the best indoor cycles on the market! Learn to ride through the four energy zones that zooms you in and out of active recovery, aerobic, and anaerobic training. Blast off using effective riding techniques, and learn how to measure your progress by controlling force (gears) and velocity (rpm) to maximize your watt output. Discover an indoor cycling class that feels and looks like an outdoor real-road ride while dramatically improving your cardiovascular capacity. Cool down with soothing, corrective, and lengthening stretches. Get riding; get fit!
